PAYE Tax calculator 2008-2009
What it does
This calculator works out tax in the same way as Pay Adjustment Tables A and PAYE Tax Tables B to D. It works for all tax codes, including codes with the prefix ‘K’ eg K702, as well as codes BR, DO and NT and saves you the job of using the tables and doing the calculations.
Important note: Operation of PAYE and NICs when the regular payday falls on a non-banking day
When a regular payday falls on a non-banking day (Saturday, Sunday or Bank Holiday) and because of this the payment is made on the last working day before the regular payday, the payment may be treated for PAYE and Class 1 NICs purposes as having been made on the regular payday.
Examples
- Pay due on Sunday 6 April 2008 (tax year 2008-09) but paid on Friday 4 April 2008 (tax year 2007-08) may be treated for PAYE and NICs purposes as being paid on 6 April 2008.
Limitations
You can’t use this calculator if you operate a Net Pay Arrangement – for further details see page 6 of the Day-to-day payroll booklet, Employer’s Helpbook ‘Day to day payroll’, E13 (PDF, 287K).
It is not possible to save the results of the calculations directly, but you can right click copy and paste results on to other applications.
